CORAL members help organizations build capacity to help them achieve their mission. We offer organizational analysis, which examines processes, practices, and policies that may help or hinder your organization’s effectiveness. We offer partnership building, where we can help you identify, outreach, and shape partnerships with other entities to strengthen your collective action. We offer marketing consulting to help you get your message out to different key audiences.

Community-Based Research

CORAL members with specialized research skills are investigating the elements that go into building strong, resilient communities built upon inclusion, equity, and the meaningful uplifting of voices we haven’t always gotten to hear. Research includes peer-reviewed journal publications, conference and workshop presentations, community engaged research projects, and more. We involve students in our projects to help them gain professional development opportunities, and to benefit from their unique perspectives on our topics of inquiry. From workshops to classroom presentations, we offer a wide range of programs designed to inspire and empower.

Community Building

At CORAL, we know that real change requires collective action. That's why we work to build strong, inclusive, and resilient communities. One of our signature projects is the Coastal Collaborations Network Analysis, in which we are mapping the entities working on environmental justice to see who is involved in this effort, where holes are in this work, which entities are bridge builders and key leaders— all with the goal of fostering new partnerships, supporting structurally underserved communities, and harnessing the power of the collective to build a coalition of strong voices speaking out against community harm and neglect. Through our community building programs, we bring people together to share resources, build relationships, and take meaningful action to build and grow their communities.
